Montana/Yellowstone: Big Sky/Big horns/ -times 2 next year so I can share this wonderful trip with 8 photographers in 2025- Sunday 12/7 to Satururday 12/13
Because of our having to, at times move fast in a tight group and keeping a small footprint, there is room for just four photographers to join me in pursuit of the Bighorn Sheep, Elk, Bison, Mule Deer, Coyote, Red Fox all the other large game animals in the Lamar Valley and other locations in Southwestern Montana including 2 days along the storied Missouri river. At the river we'll stay in a private waterfront cottage. The Missouri provides a very active habitat for a wide variety of wintering wildlife from Bald Eagles and wintering waterfowl to Mule deer, Elk and Pronghorn. When the weather allows we'll float the river in pursuit of all that use the river daily. In addition to the large targets, all around our cabin, this property is great habitat for song birds like the Magpie, Steller's jays, Clark's nutcracker etc... On Tuesday after a gorgeous drive we'll continue our adventure into the Lamar valley of Yellowstone. We will have a cabin in Gardiner, the northern gateway to Yellowstone for the rest of our photo adventure. We'll focus of the wildlife in the valley (often called the Serengeti of the West). At the very northeast corner of the valley and Yellowstone park is SilverGate and Cooke City where we'll be in search for Grizzly bear, huge Bull Bison and Red Fox.
Our photography pursuit will be staged from our van and may include some short hikes for those choose to. This will be a week of learning to be in the wild with your cameras and all your senses engaged. I can help with any issues that surface but help will also come from others in a round robin of everyones own photo experience (ex: Canon users help other Canon users etc...). Additionally, I will share freely many different wildlife photography techniques. The cost of this week is $?? per person and includes all ground transportation (including fuel cost) and lodging (meals are not included). We'll have 6 days and nights of uninterrupted exploration and image making, in a "think tank" atmosphere of working with cameras in the natural world.
