The market demands a ever changing balance of art and commerce and requires constant attention to detail when producing images that not only move the audience but have commercial appeal.
I feel some success when I've helped in some small way to move people to a new awareness of the environment around us. This helps people to become better stewards and more interested in preserving it. Better stewardship is paramount to leaving our children with a better world.
My company has two divisions, a website for each. EHP (the commercial side) and Southern Light Photographic for photo products, prints & stock photography. I specialize in location photography: active people, aerials, architecture, sports, travel, nature & wildlife for documentaries, corporate annual reports, editorial, book publishing and private sector assignment work.
We offer commercial clients a one stop shop with expert writing and full graphic design capabilities.
Partnering with my wife Jan a seasoned travel writer on magazine & documentaries, we specialize in slice of life and special interest stories.
The Stock photography and product side is primarily Natural History work with a focus on the South East. I recently published "Carolina Nature" a coffee table book and the "Lowcountry Calendar" my annual wall calendar. I have contributed to or supplied all photographs for, several book projects. Eric also leads photo workshops and wildlife photo tours in the South Carolina Lowcouny. His Lowcountry photo safaris and lowcountry wildlife photo tours are semi-private or private and Eric teaches photography and wildlife approach technique in route. Eric gets photographers close to dolphin, ospry, bald eagles, egrets herons, pelicans plus many seabirds, wading and shorebirds not to mention deer, mink,otter, racoons etc...
